Hey, inimino! This one is for you!
Tea Guy Speaks points us to an article from Australia lamenting the decline of brewing tea from loose leaves and the rise of the ubiquitous tea bag.
Yeah, inimino is going to be all over this one. :-)

It's true, tea bags are ubiquitous. I can relate to the dismay at seeing good food served with cut-rate tea in bags, in fact I seldom if ever order tea out for this very reason. I do enjoy a "proper" cup of tea at home though, neatly sidestepping the milk-before-or-after debate by omitting the milk altogether.
Brewed loose leaf tea is markedly superior in ways even new or occasional tea drinkers can appreciate, though, so it seems almost certain to gain popularity again when the conditions are right.
Great comment, I am wholly against the tea bag. It is completely inadequately expressing what the tea experience can be.. try www.tommystea.com .. We'd like to remove the teabag from the vocabulary as something of a quality tea experience.
Totally agree. Loose leaf tea is so much more environmentally friendly too!
